It looks like Neta is setting-up shop in PH
The amount of new car brands entering our market may be a bit overwhelming for some, but the choices just keep on growing.
It appears that Chinese EV brand Neta is setting-up shop in the Philippines. Proof? The photo above that shows an under-construction car showroom wearing the brand’s logo which we chanced upon while driving along EDSA in Mandaluyong City.
Neta is owned by a Shanghai-based company called Hozon Auto. The brand currently has an overseas presence in Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Brazil, and South Africa.
Earlier this year, Hozon Auto established a manufacturing plant in Thailand which expected to begin exports to ASEAN markets which could include ours.
We tried to do some research on the brand’s local presence but unfortunately did not yield much results. A source does tell us that an unnamed “top EV brand” is already doing recruitment through online job hunting sites.
Interestingly, a website seems to have already been set-up. Whether it’s official or not is something we do not know for sure but it shows a single model–the Neta Aya subcompact crossover, and its full specifications. The website also mentions that the Aya can already be pre-ordered for a Php 5,000 fee.
Well whatever the case may be, more choices is always good for car buyers. Do you think Neta would have a good chance in our market?
