The Mazda Roadster 35th Anniversary Edition is limited to just 1,000 units
A few months ago, Mazda previewed at the Mazda Fan Festa 2024 in Japan a special version of everyone’s favorite Roadster (known as the MX-5 here or more popularly as the Miata) to commemorate its 35th year of existence.
Its name? The Mazda Roadster 35th Anniversary Edition.
Built on the most recent update of the two-door convertible, this special variant is exclusively painted in Artisan Red which is matched with bright-silver 17-inch alloy wheels for the RF, and 16-inch wheels and a tan canvas roof for the Soft Top. A plaque showing the vehicle’s production number and 35th Anniversary text is on the rear right fender as well.
The interior gets an embroidered 35th anniversary logo on the headrests, a set of special tan floor mats, and Artisan Red interior accents. The vehicle’s key fob also gets an Artisan Red casing, matching the vehicle’s exterior.
As for specifications, the 35th Anniversary Edition gets the same powertrains as the standard Roadster variants. The Soft Top gets a 1.5-liter Skyactiv-G engine making 131 horsepower and 150 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The RF, on the other hand, gets a 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G engine that produces 184 horsepower and 205 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission.
The Mazda Roadster 35th Anniversary Edition will be limited to just a total of 1,000 units with orders being accepted until March 3, 2025. It is still unknown if Mazda will be offering this in overseas markets like ours but given the importance of our market for the Miata, there is still a chance.
