Would you fancy a Nissan Z wagon?

Here’s a weird but cool take on the latest Nissan Z.

Nissan is already gearing-up for the upcoming 2025 Tokyo Auto Salon, previously announcing what we can expect to see from them. That includes an all-electric R32 Skyline GT-R. But there’s more.

Something unique and a bit strange will be there too. It’s the Z Lealia, essentially a five-door wagon version of the current RZ34 generation of the iconic Z sports coupé.

The Z Lealia was designed by fourth-year students from the Auto Maintenance and Customization Department of the Nissan Automobile Technical College (NATC) campus in Kyoto, as a culmination project for their studies.

Produced for a total of six months, it is designed as a sports station wagon for families and is based on the M35 Stagea with parts added from the RZ34.

The proportions are a bit off, but it works.

Parts of the rear fender and roof were welded onto the rear section of a Nissan LEAF, while the rear fenders were widened to recreate the Fairlady Z’s muscular stance. Of course, it is painted in the Z’s signature Ikazuchi Yellow paint job.

There’s also the NEO Skyline which is based on the CV35 Skyline Coupé and is a modern take on the Kenmeri Skyline from the 70s. Targeting car enthusiasts aged 30 to 50, NEO stands for nostalgia, encouragement, and originality.

The NEO Skyline brings the past to the future.

This concept vehicle basically brings the Kenmeri Skyline to the present. No parts or design cues have been reused from the original version. Its Tomoaki Blue exterior paint job is also an original car, inspired by the original model’s bright blue metallic paint job, but with an added pearl finish for additional modernity.

Last but not the least is the Bluebird Kiwami, built by third-year students in the Auto Body Master Course of the NATC Aichi campus over the course of two and a half months.

It is based on the PU11 Bluebird Maxima from 36 years ago with its unique four-door hardtop bodystyle without a center pillar.

The Kiwami name comes from the Japanese word for “ultimate” and the car is said to blend luxury with sportiness, with it as the vision of Gen Z students for a luxury car that provides a sporty driving experience. Its Aurora Flare Blue Pearl paint job is inspired by the sea and blue skies for an active and youthful vibe.

The Bluebird Kiwami aims to provide both luxury and sportiness.

These three vehicles will be exhibited at the 2025 Tokyo Auto Salon. That is happening from January 10-12, 2025 at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan. We’ll be there so be sure to catch our coverage on that.
