AutoPH

The latest in Philippine motoring.

Here’s what you can expect from the Zeekr 001 and Zeekr X once they launch in PH

The entry of Chinese premium EV brand, Zeekr, under the distributorship of Autohub Group, was just recently announced and made official. Together with that announcement was the confirmation of two models to come–the Zeekr 001 and Zeekr X.

Now you’re probably wondering what these two models will be like once they are officially launched in the country. Well you came to the right place. Thankfully, Zeekr Philippines has put up a website which shows everything we can expect from their initial two-car lineup.

First, a little backgrounder on the brand. Zeekr was founded in 2021 and is owned by Geely Holding Group, the parent company of popular Chinese automaker Geely, Lynk & Co which recently announced their entry to the Philippine market under a different distributor, Swedish luxury automaker Volvo, and Lotus, among others. The main reason for its existence is to compete with Tesla in the EV scene, while currently having a presence in its home market of China, and Europe.

Zeekr 001

The first model for us to discuss is the Zeekr 001. Originally supposed to be released under the Lynk & Co brand, and even previewed as the Lynk & Co Zero Concept, the 001 is the world’s first fully-electric shooting brake and the first model to be released by Zeekr. It is confirmed to be coming in two variants which are the Standard and Flagship.

In terms of appearance, the Zeekr 001 wears a similar design language as Lynk & Co products, especially with the upswept LED daytime running lights in front. The rear features a sloping roof design with a 1.47m wide light bar for the taillights.

Based on the Zeekr Philippines website, equipment for the 001 will include matrix LED headlights, three wheel designs with sizes ranging from 21- to 22-inches, 15.4-inch central touchscreen infotainment system, 8.9-inch digital instrument cluster, heads-up display, 5.7-inch rear climate control touchscreen, and an automatic air suspension system

The 001 will be available in five different colors: Phantom Black, Tech Gray, Crystal White, Electric Blue, and Energy Orange. There will also be two two-tone interior color options: Charcoal Black and Stone Grey, and Midnight Blue and Polar White.

Powering the Zeekr 001 is a high-performance permanent magnet synchronous electric motor paired to a 100 kWh battery. It produces a total of 544 horsepower and goes from 0 to 100 kph in just 3.8 seconds, with a driving range of 620 kilometers.

Zeekr X

The second model to be joining the lineup is the Zeekr X, a fully-electric subcompact crossover. Unveiled in April last year, the Zeekr X will also come in two variants, Premium and Flagship, once it launches here.

Looking at its exterior, the Zeekr X wears angular lines all around. This is made even more apparent by the double-edged LED daytime running lights in front.

According to the Zeekr Philippines website, the X will come equipped with a microfiber headliner, two-tone reading lights, Ice Block ambient lighting, 13-speaker Yamaha surround sound system, panoramic glass roof, and a 24.3-inch augmented reality heads-up display (AR-HUD), among others.

Exterior color options for the Zeekr X are expected to be Berlin Grey, Athens White, Paris Beige, and Hangzhou Green. Two-tone interior color options are the same as those on the Zeekr 001.

Like the Zeekr 001, powering the Zeekr X is also a high-performance permanent magnet synchronous electric motor, but paired to a smaller 66 kWh battery. It produces 428 horsepower and can go from 0 to 100 kph in just 3.8 seconds. Driving range is estimated at 440 kilometers.

Coming Q2 2024 + One More Model

While an exact launch date has not yet been confirmed, sources say that it is expected to be within the second quarter of this year. Another model, the Zeekr 009 electric MPV will also be joining the lineup later this year.

Unfortunately, details are still incomplete for the Zeekr Philippines lineup. We can expect full specifications, and even pricing, to come in the coming months, or even once they officially make their launch this year.
