GAC Motor PH sees large growth, to launch GS3 Emzoom on June 30
GAC Motor Philippines, under the distributorship of Astara Philippines, has seen high amounts of growth over the past year, which allows it to continue its aggressive approach towards the Philippine market.
Compared to the previous year, the Chinese automaker saw its sales grow by 244% year-on-year. 30% of that number is made up of sales of their flagship GS8, followed by the GS4 at 20%.
The company announced this as well as other news about the brand during a press conference held with members of local motoring media at their flagship dealership, GAC Motor Pasig.
And speaking of dealership, GAC Motor Philippines is also on track to end the year with 20 dealerships nationwide. The company is expecting to have 15 dealerships in operation by the end of July.
GS3 Emzoom Launch
The company also took the opportunity to announce the upcoming launch of their latest model, the GS3 Emzoom. Set to enter the Philippine market on June 30, 2023, like the Emkoo which was launched at the 2023 Manila International Auto Show, and now on its second generation, we will be the first market outside China to receive this new model.
Details from China about this model are still unsurprisingly scarce but seeing photos available online, we’re seeing that compared to the previous and outgoing generation GS3, the GS3 Emzoom gets a more aggressive front fascia and sharper body lines all around. It also gets hidden door handles and a much more modern interior.
Also considering what’s available in the rest of the GAC Motor lineup in the Philippines, it’s safe to assume that the GS3 Emzoom will be powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine.
Pricing and variants have also been announced and they will be as follows:
- GS3 Emzoom GS – Php 998,000
- GS3 Emzoom GB – Php 1,098,000
- GS3 Emzoom GL – Php 1,198,000
That’s certainly very competitive as this model is expected to directly go against the Geely Coolray. In addition, customers will be able to take advantage of a 5-year warranty. Interested customers can also now reserve the new model at GAC Motor Philippines dealerships.
New Brand Ambassador
The press conference was ended with the announcement of GAC Motor Philippines’ new brand ambassador. The company tapped TV actor and host Dingdong Dantes to represent the brand.
“We are honored to have Dingdong Dantes as our new brand ambassador for GAC Motor. His achievements in his field prove his dedication, high standards, and commitment to quality, which are the same values we stand for in GAC. We strongly believe he is the perfect fit to our brand persona,” explained Cajayon.
Cajayon further added that the brand’s collaboration with Dantes will enable GAC Motor to resonate with more customers as it drives towards becoming a brand that is more accessible and aspirational among Filipinos.
Dantes, a multi-awarded actor and motoring enthusiast himself, is thrilled to be the new brand ambassador of GAC Motor. He said, “Being part of the GAC Motor family means sharing the same values with a brand that is not afraid to push boundaries and strive for excellence. I am honored to be part of this growing family of forward-thinking innovators, dedicated to driving more Filipinos closer to the GAC brand experience.”
