Nissan Terra Sport launched, starts at Php 2.119M
Hate chrome? Well the Nissan Terra for you has just arrived. Nissan Philippines has introduced today through a virtual launch event the latest variant of its midsize SUV offering, the Nissan Terra Sport.
Available in both 4×2 and 4×4 variants, the Nissan Terra Sport is based on the VL trims of the local Nissan Terra line. It gets a handful of exterior and interior aesthetic changes to give it a sportier appearance, similar to that of the Terra 70th anniversary edition which was introduced in Thailand last year.
So what sets this apart from the variants it’s based on? For its exterior, the Terra Sport gets blacked-out exterior bits such as on the front grille, front and rear bumper garnish, fog light housings, side mirrors, door handles, roof rails, running boards, tailgate garnish, and rear spoiler. Setting it apart further are larger front fog light housings, new 18-inch alloy wheels from the Nissan Navara VL but finished in gloss black, and black bumper garnish.
The Nissan Terra Sport gets its own unique exterior color options, two to be exact. Those are Stealth Pearl Gray and Fiery Red. Two other exterior color options from the regular Terra variants are also available: Aspen Pearl White and Galaxy Black.
The interior remains pretty much the same but also gets the same black treatment on the dashboard, center armrest, and door panels’ leather padded portions. It gets the same 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system (from the VE 4×2) with a 6-speaker audio system on the 4×2, and 8-speaker Bose premium audio system on the 4×4.
The Nissan Terra Sport soldiers on with the familiar 2.5-liter YD25 Inline 4-cylinder turbodiesel engine under its hood. It produces 190 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque, paired to a 7-speed automatic transmission.
For safety, the Terra Sport continues to be equipped with Nissan Intelligent Mobility, giving it autonomous emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane departure alert, driver attention alert, blindspot warning, and rear cross traffic alert. It also still gets a 360-degree around-view monitor with moving object detection, as well as a smart rear-view mirror.
The Nissan Terra Sport is now available at all Nissan dealerships nationwide with a suggested retail price of Php 2,119,000 for the 4×2, and Php 2,459,000 for the 4×4.
“The Nissan Terra Sport is a perfect representation of Nissan’s innovative and exciting DNA,” says Nissan Philippines President Juan Manuel Hoyos. “With its rugged yet sleek styling, it perfectly embodies Nissan’s commitment to providing customers with vehicles that are not only functional but also stylish and fun to drive.”
