Nissan Z and Terra Sport coming to PH this year – report

It’s gonna be another big year for Nissan Philippines, Inc. (NPI). After confirming the launch of two new models at a media thanksgiving party last month, we now have an idea of what they might be.

According to a report by our friends at AutoFun Philippines, the Japanese automaker is set to launch the all-new Z 2-door sports coupé as well as a new Sport variant for the Terra midsize SUV.

Giving us plenty of excitement, their source, a sales agent for an authorized Nissan dealership in the country, says that the launch of the much-awaited Z will happen next month (March 2023) while there is no definite date yet for the Terra Sport. The Z’s imminent arrival matches a statement by NPI President Juan Manuel Hoyos that a vehicle with “speed, excitement, and performance” is on its way to our shores.

The Z received an all-new generation model last year, its seventh since the model was first unveiled as the Fairlady Z over five decades ago. Based on the Z Proto concept presented almost a year ago, features a new twin-turbo V6 engine, as well as all-new exterior and interior styling which are inspired by previous generations.

The 7th generation Nissan Z also gets a new engine under its hood. It is powered by a 3.0-liter VR30DDTT twin-turbo V6 that produces 405 horsepower and 475 Nm of torque. If it will be offered similarly to the 370Z, it should come with choices of a 6-speed manual or 9-speed automatic transmission.

As for the Nissan Terra Sport, their source also says that it would be similar to the Mitsubishi Montero Sport Black Series and Ford Everest Sport. That means the Terra Sport is highly likely to be based on the VL 4×2 A/T variant, with its chrome pieces finished in black instead. Information on this is scarce as no other market has this variant yet.

Are you excited for these upcoming models from Nissan Philippines? We definitely are. If the report is accurate, then we won’t have to wait too long, especially for the all-new Z.
