Parts issues? Geely Motor PH wants to fix that

You may have read the news of the recent new model introductions of Geely Motor Philippines (GMP) in the form of the EX5 fully electric compact and Okavango Elite midsize crossovers.

In one of our social media posts, several commenters noted the brand’s aftersales service issues, specifically when it comes to spare vehicle parts. The Chinese automaker is aware of this and wants the problem to become a thing of the past.

How so? Well, for starters, the company opened last year a brand-new 4,700sqm parts warehouse in Cabuyao, Laguna. The facility currently already has over USD 5-million worth of ready-to-use spare parts in storage, which should help in the maintenance and repairs of Geely vehicles of existing and future owners.

And to further expedite the availability of these spare parts in all corners of the country, GMP will be opening additional parts warehouses in the Visayas and Mindanao island groups.

It will be remembered that prior to the brand’s local management being taken over by its Chinese headquarters, several after-sales issues arose, leading to the loss of trust from customers and a large drop in sales for the brand, which was once in the top 10 best-selling automotive brands in our market.

Do you think this new development, an important one at that, will help the brand regain the trust of its customers and the popularity it had a few years ago?
