Peugeot PH to preview an EV at MIAS 2023

Peugeot Philippines, under the distributorship of Astara Philippines, is going to join-in on the trend of introducing fully-electric vehicles in the local market with the first confirmed to appear at this year’s Manila International Auto Show (MIAS).

The French automaker announced the appearance of the EV version of its entry-level crossover, the 2008, in a release sent to members of motoring media. Called the e-2008, it is essentially the same car but with an electric motor moving it instead.

The unveiling of the Peugeot e-2008 at the MIAS is intended to give our customers a glimpse into the electrification of the Peugeot line up. Peugeot has been pioneering electric vehicles since 1941, and the coming of the e-2008 to the Philippines culminates more than 80 years of expertise,” said Maricar Parco, brand head of Peugeot Philippines.

Unlike the regular 2008 which moves through a 1.2L 3-cylinder turbo engine, the e-2008 is powered by a 50 kWh electric motor that produces 134 horsepower and 260 Nm of torque, a little bit more compared to the ICE-powered version. Driving range is estimated at around 320 kilometers.

Other than the e-2008, Peugeot Philippines will continue to showcase its full lineup composed of the regular 2008, 3008, and 5008 crossovers, and the Traveller Premium van. Test drives will also be available for those who want to try them out.

The 2023 Manila International Auto Show opens tomorrow, April 13, 2023 (Thursday), and will run up until April 16, 2023 (Sunday) at the World Trade Center Metro Manila in Pasay City.
