PEVS 2025 | Kia PH previews the EV5

Kia has a relatively strong electrified portfolio in the Philippines, with the likes of full EVs and hybrid electric vehicles. It will soon be joined by the EV5, which aims to be one of the brand’s most affordable fully electric offerings in the market.

While not on sale yet, as it was shown off at the Philippine EV Summit 2025, the vehicle’s launch will happen early next year in the first quarter.

The EV5 looks like a smaller, simplified version of its EV9 flagship SUV, measuring 4,615mm long, 1,875mm wide, and 1,715mm tall with a wheelbase of 2,750mm.

It has Kia’s “Opposites United” design language, which integrates the Star Map LED lighting front and back, down to the futuristic four-spoke 18- or 19-inch wheels, and large storage spaces available for the rear and an available front trunk.

The car comes with an 88.1kWh LFP battery with up to 550km max range, with support for DC fast charging thanks to its 400V e-GMP architecture. Plus, the single front-mounted electric motor produces 217 horsepower and 310Nm of torque.

The interior and other features are yet to be finalized for the Philippine market, but the global variant has a very angular and geometric design that mirrors the exterior with leather upholstery, two 12.3-inch screens for the digital driver’s display and infotainment screen, and also curiously, a small display in between the two for your climate controls.

Hard buttons for other controls can still be found under, and it comes with amenities like a wireless charger, support for wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an available eight-speaker Harman/Kardon sound system, panoramic sunroof, and the Kia DriveWise ADAS system.

Again, the vehicle will be on display at the Philippine EV Summit 2025 until October 25 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City, with the final SRP, full specifications, and features to be announced during its launch.
