PH-spec Toyota Corolla Cross gets a small but important upgrade for 2025

Last year, Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) introduced the updated version of the Corolla Cross, featuring a refreshed exterior, added tech features, and became an all-hybrid affair with the discontinuation of the entry-level gas-only engine.
Fast forward a year later, the Japanese automaker’s crossover receives another update, one that is not immediately visible and was uncovered by our friends from carguide.ph.
So what exactly has changed? The Corolla Cross now gets a new 4Ah lithium-ion battery for its hybrid system which was first introduced locally in the refreshed Corolla Altis last year. Replacing the old 6.5Ah nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) battery, it has a smaller capacity but promises to deliver better fuel economy through enhanced electric performance.
The rest of the crossover’s hybrid system remains the same. It still gets a 1.8-liter 2ZR-FXE engine that makes 98 horsepower and 142Nm of torque. This is paired to a 53kW electric motor, with a combined system output of 122 horsepower.
With the small change, pricing has also increased by a bit. These are now as follows:
- Corolla Cross 1.8 G HEV CVT – Php 1,514,000 (+Php 16,000)
- Corolla Cross 1.8 V HEV CVT – Php 1,789,000 (+Php 26,000)
- Corolla Cross 1.8 G HEV CVT – Php 1,943,000 (+Php 16,000)
