Refreshed Mazda BT-50 arrives in PH with Php 1.550M starting price

Six months ago, Mazda revealed the refreshed version of its Isuzu-based BT-50 pickup truck. Last month, we got to see it in the flesh at the 46th Bangkok International Motor Show in Thailand. And now, it has arrived in the Philippines.
Two variants are available for the 2025 Mazda BT-50 starting with the 3.0 A/T 4×2 priced at Php 1,550,000 serving as the entry-level grade, and the new 3.0 A/T 4×4 Pangolin which is priced at Php 1,850,000 serving as the top grade.

Most of the changes to the BT-50 can be found on the outside. The front fascia wears an updated version of the Kodo design language, taking cues from the Mazda CX-5 compact crossover. An L-shaped signature can be found on the headlights and taillights, while the front grille gets new trapezoidal patterns. The Mazda emblem has also been enlarged.

Both variants get LED headlights and taillights, power-folding mirrors, and tailgate assist. The 4×2 gets bulb-type DRLs, 17-inch alloy wheels, and body-colored door handles. The Pangolin is set apart by its L-shaped DRLs, 18-inch alloy wheels, fender flares, roof rails, fashion bar, and cargo bed cover.

Six exterior colors are available. Ingot Silver Metallic, Concrete Gray Mica, and True Black are carried-over from before; while new options are Red Earth Metallic, Sailing Blue Metallic, and Geode White Pearl.

The interior is largely similar, maintaining its unique look compared to its Isuzu sibling. New for this update is the passenger side storage compartment cover which gets a ridged design on its upper and lower sections. Equipment has also been updated.

The 4×2 gets an analog instrument cluster with a 4.2-inch info display, an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay (wireless) and Android Auto connectivity, and a six-speaker audio system. It also comes with unique two-tone terracotta and black leather and Leganu suede seat upholstery which are a Philippine market exclusive and are locally-sourced as well.

Setting apart the Pangolin are black leather upholstery, a new seven-inch digital instrument cluster, a larger nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system, eight-speaker audio system, wireless phone charger, heated front seats, and dual-zone automatic climate control.

Common features between the two are Type C USB ports, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a set of all-weather deep dish floor mats.
Under the hood, both variants of the 2025 Mazda BT-50 in the Philippines are powered exclusively by the same Isuzu-sourced 3.0-liter turbodiesel four-cylinder engine (4JJ3-TCX). It still produces 190 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.

The Pangolin also benefits from an updated stereoscopic camera for its suite of advanced driver-assist systems. This adds in rear autonomous emergency braking and pedestrian detection to its wide range of safety systems which includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, front autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross traffic alert, among others.

As with other Mazda vehicles, buyers will be able to take advantage of a five-year free service plan, a three-year or 100,000km (whichever comes first) vehicle warranty, and free three-year roadside assistance with concierge service.

While the Mazda BT-50 isn’t the most popular pickup truck in our market, it certainly has a lot to offer. Check out this comparison article too to see how it compares to its Isuzu D-MAX sibling.
