Refreshed Mitsubishi Xpander now officially available in PH, starts at Php 1.050M

Over a month ago in March, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) surprised the motoring public with the announcement of the launch and start of pre-selling for the updated Xpander 7-seater MPV. Now it’s finally available.

The Mitsubishi Xpander is the best-selling 7-seater MPV in the Philippines. This year, for the 2023 model year, it gets new styling bits both inside and out, as well as additional technology, keeping it fresh in its very competitive segment.

Like before, the 2023 Mitsubishi Xpander, not including the Xpander Cross, is available in three variants starting with the base 1.5 GLX M/T, the mid-grade 1.5 GLX Plus A/T, and the top-spec 1.5 GLS A/T.

In terms of styling, the exterior is modernized with a new version of Mitsubishi’s signature Dynamic Shield grille, T-shaped headlights, and LED daytime running lights. The taillights get an updated shape though are still similar to that of the pre-facelift model. There are also new alloy wheels, bumpers, and ground clearance has been increased to 225 mm.

Standard exterior equipment, starting from the base 1.5 GLX M/T are halogen headlights, 17-inch two-tone alloy wheels, halogen fog lights, and LED taillights. The 1.5 GLX A/T remains the same outside while going for the top-spec 1.5 GLS A/T adds LED daytime running lights, LED headlights, and power-folding side mirrors.

Inside, the 2023 Mitsubishi Xpander features a new dashboard design. Materials have also been updated with the addition of soft-touch plastics. Tech is also improved with a new infotainment system, and electronic parking brake.

Standard interior equipment, starting from the base 1.5 GLX M/T and 1.5 GLX A/T are fabric seats, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 4-speaker audio system, and a lever-type parking brake. Going for the 1.5 GLS A/T adds a leather-wrapped steering wheel, digital climate controls, 6-speaker audio system, push button start, and an electronic parking brake with auto-hold function.

Under the hood, the 2023 Mitsubishi Xpander’s powertrain remains unchanged. It is still a 1.5-liter 4A91 Inline 4-cylinder MIVEC gasoline engine that produces 103 horsepower and 141 Nm of torque. Unlike in overseas markets which now get a continuously variable transmission (CVT), the local-spec Xpander still makes use of a 4-speed automatic transmission.

Standard safety features on the 2023 Mitsubishi Xpander are dual front airbags, reverse camera, side impact beams, and ISOFIX anchors. Getting the top-spec 1.5 GLS A/T adds active stability control, traction control, and hill start assist.

The 2023 Mitsubishi Xpander is priced as follows:

  • 1.5 GLX M/T – Php 1,050,000
  • 1.5 GLX A/T – Php 1,110,000
  • 1.5 GLS A/T – Php 1,180,000
