Shelby gives the Ford Mustang Dark Horse a Super Snake (R) bite

The fastest S650 Ford Mustang that money can buy is arguably the track-special Mustang GTD, but then its sticker starting price of $327,960 (Php 18 million) is a little too much to swallow for the average consumer. On the other hand, you could get something like the Shelby Super Snake R, which costs a whole lot less at $224,995 (or roughly Php 12 million) and actually surpasses the GTD in some aspects.

While this is based on the Dark Horse, it gets significantly overhauled inside and out. The body now utilizes more carbon fiber panels, with very aggressive front and rear bumpers, large fender flares, sharp splitters and skirts, and a rear wing that would make this look more like the result of a Porsche 911 GT3 RS and a Mustang’s drunk encounter at a bar.

The interior is stripped down with a rear-seat delete and a rollcage to be fitted in order to make it further track-ready, and it also has redone interior upholstery.

The biggest changes come in the form of performance modifications. The 5.0-liter Coyote V8 gets boosted by a massive 3.0-liter Whipple supercharger, improved Shelby cooling, performance half shafts, and a Borla cat-back exhaust system. This boosts output to above 850 horsepower, and it can be paired to either a Tremec six-speed manual transmission or a 10-speed automatic transmission.

It also gets fully adjustable coilovers, massive two-piece Brembo brakes, significantly wider rear tires, and forged 20-inch wheels are also made of magnesium alloy with carbon fiber elements for further weight savings.

Seeing how we got both the GT 350 and GT 500 locally, would you want Ford and Shelby Philippines to bring in this monster to our local roads?
