Suzuki XL7 goes black in new Black Edition variant

Suzuki Philippines knows that black is in, especially for those who want a bit of a more menacing look to their otherwise mainstream vehicles.

That’s why alongside the launch of their new Fronx subcompact crossover, the Japanese automaker also decided to introduce a new Black Edition variant of its SUV-inspired MPV, the XL7.

So what exactly sets the XL7 Hybrid Black Edition from the rest of the lineup? Well, not much actually since the latest update given to it already gave it a lot of black.

The Black Edition replaces any chrome and silver trim to black on the front and rear bumper and tailgate garnishes, door handles, and roof rails. The taillights have also been given a dark tint for a bolder appearance.

As for colors, the XL7 Hybrid Black Edition can be had in Magma Gray Metallic, Savanna Ivory Metallic, or Snow White Pearl paint jobs, with the latter two also available in two-tone finishes, with a Cool Black Pearl Metallic roof and A-pillar,

Mechanically, it’s still the same as the regular XL7 Hybrids with its mild-hybrid powertrain. This is composed of a 1.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine (K15B) with a 1.768kW electric motor and 0.12kWh lithium-ion battery, capable of producing a total of 105 horsepower and 138Nm of torque, mated to a four-speed automatic transmission.

Other standard features also remain the same such as LED headlights, 16-inch alloy wheels, seven-seater configuration, 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, six-speaker audio system, and reverse camera.

As for pricing, the Black Edition commands an additional Php 7,000 compared to the regular XL7 variants, bringing the price up to Php 1,259,000 for the 1.5 GLX A/T Hybrid Black Edition, and Php 1,269,000 for the 1.5 GLX A/T Hybrid Black Edition Two-Tone.
