The BYD Shark 6 DMO washes ashore; reservations ahoy

If our recent sighting of the BYD Shark 6 DMO wasn’t enough proof that the electrified pickup truck has arrived, then take a look at these photos that the brand’s distributor, ACMobility, shared with the press.
DMO stands for Dual Mode Off-road, which is BYD’s electrified technology that operates similarly to the recent electrified options like the Seal 5 DM-i and Sealion 6 DM-i, but with a bit more punch for off-roading.

Globally, the truck utilizes a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, dual electric motors, and a 29.58kWh BYD Blade (LFP) battery for a combined output of 436 horsepower and 650 Nm of torque. In total, it should be capable of up to 100 km on pure electric power, up to 800 km on a single tank of gas, a 0-100 km/h sprint in 5.7 seconds.
Another thing to note is that the truck bed is capable of carrying up to 1,200L and 790kg of payload, it has a ground clearance of 200mm, with off-roading stats coming in at 31 degrees for the approach, 19.3 degrees for the departure, and 17 degrees for the ramp over angle.

Obviously, with this many vehicles present at the port, this means that stocks are not an issue, and the eagle-eyed among you may notice that the vehicle comes in three colors. If we’re following what the global markets call them, expect it to be available either in Deep Sea Blue, Great White, or Tidal Black.
The best thing about this? Interested customers can head to their nearest BYD dealership to learn more about the vehicle and reserve their units today.
