It may not be a top-seller but Geely Motor Philippines is still putting importance in their subcompact Emgrand, introducing some updates as part of their relaunch.
The Emgrand was initially launched in our market in February 2022, competing directly with the likes of the Toyota Vios, Honda City, and Nissan Almera, among others. With this new update, it gets a few upgrades.

For starters it now only has one variant—the 1.5 Luxury A/T. It gets a new and larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The best part? It finally comes with Apple CarPlay connectivity which has been among the pleas of Geely customers for years.

Under the hood, the Emgrand still gets a 1.5-liter Inline 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated gasoline engine. For this update though, it now makes an increased 122 horsepower and 152 Nm of torque (+ 19 PS and 10 Nm), and is now mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission that replaces the CVT.

Other standard stuff remain the same as before (at least on the top-spec Premium variant) such as full LED exterior lighting, 17-inch alloy wheels, leather seats, and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.

As for pricing, the 2025 Geely Emgrand is priced at Php 949,000 for the now lone variant. This puts it at the same price range of the BYD Seal 5 DM-i which is a plug-in hybrid sedan. What do you think?
