The Geely EX5 EM-I has landed on our shores, is the launch imminent?

We know that Geely Motor Philippines (GMP) is ramping up for a big 2026, with a whole salvo of models to rejuvenate the brand. One of these is the EX5 EM-I, the plug-in hybrid version of its EX5 all-electric compact crossover.
The Chinese automaker has been very religious in teasing the new crossover ever since the start of the year, and the latest update regarding the model is that units slated for our market have already arrived in local ports.

GMP also sent photos of the vehicles in different colors, and interior, complete with protective wraps. From what we can see too, there are two different variants with different wheel designs.

Specifications haven’t been confirmed yet, but we can expect it to have a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 99 horsepower and 125Nm of torque, combined with an electric motor that produces 218 horsepower and 262Nm. The electric drivetrain is paired to an 18.4kWh LFP battery, providing an all-electric range of up to 83km or a combined range of up to 943km.

You can read more about the Geely EX5 EM-i here, but we shouldn‘t have to wait too long to get final details as Geely Motor Philippines says that the vehicle is slated to launch in the first quarter of 2026.
