The Honda Prelude gets the Mugen treatment, and it’s hot

With the Honda Prelude now officially released, it’s only a matter of time before we see aftermarket parts start cropping up for the vehicle. Well, if you wanted to differentiate your future Prelude from the others, Honda (at least in Japan) offers the Sports Style body kit officially, but it might seem a bit too tame or not for everyone’s tastes.

This is where Honda specialist Mugen steps in with performance parts for the newly launched Sports coupe. At the time of writing, these are the only parts available, but Mugen lists that many more parts are under development, meaning we could see even crazier bits and pieces, or even complete cars like the Civic Type R Mugen Group.A and Group.B in the future.

As shown in its pictures, the Prelude will receive a front lip, side skirt, rear diffuser, and small rear spoiler, all made out of carbon fiber, plus a performance-enhancing sports exhaust system. Currently, these bits are still under development and will have a release date in early 2026.

However, you can buy the special Mugen FR10 19-inch forged aluminum wheels were made in collaboration with BBS. These come in at 19×9.5J +60 with a 5×120 bolt pattern, and Mugen recommends fitting a tire size of at least 235/40R19. Take note, the center caps and lug nuts aren’t included, and Mugen is happy to sell you a variety for you to pick from.

Other performance-enhancing parts include a high-performance oil filter, a high-pressure radiator cap, high-performance MS-P 0W-30 synthetic engine oil, front and rear performance dampers, Type S sports brake pads, high-performance brake fluid, and a brake and clutch reservoir tank cover.

Finally, Mugen also offers a few more mods that aren’t exactly necessary, such as aerodynamic carbon door mirror covers and replacement anti-glare mirrors, various emblems in carbon fiber or metal, trunk and floor matting, decals, a carbon license plate garnish, smart key cases, filler caps, and even foldable containers.
Curious about where to order these and how much they’ll cost once the parts are officially revealed? You can visit Mugen’s website, and hopefully, you won’t have an empty bank account afterwards.
