The Hyundai Ioniq 6 N can go from 0 to 100 kph in just 3.2 secs

Hyundai is bringing quite the boost to its Ioniq 6 fully electric fastback sedan with the reveal of the high-performance Ioniq 6 N at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Based on the refreshed Ioniq 6, revealed a few months ago, the Ioniq 6 N is the second fully electric model to be given the full N treatment after the Ioniq 5 N, which made its debut two years ago, also at Goodwood.
What makes this what it is, first, is its powertrain. With dual electric motors connected to the front and rear wheels, it produces up to 650 horsepower and 770Nm of torque, and can go as fast as 257kph.

That setup also makes it capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 kph in just 3.2 seconds when using N Launch Control, which modulates motor torque to achieve optimal wheel slip, ensuring maximum traction and faster take-offs from a stop.
There are also other features that help further boost driving performance and driver connection to the vehicle.

First is the N Active Sound + system, which adds different sound modes to boost the driving experience. Meanwhile, N e-Shift, which simulates close gear ratios and increases responsiveness and driver connection. N Grin Boost maximizes acceleration for 10 seconds with maximum power use and motor responsiveness for faster overtaking, N Torque Distribution provides 11 different levels of torque distribution, and N Brake Regen gives a maximum 0.6G regenerative braking for improved brake endurance.

Oh, and speaking of regenerative braking, the Ioniq 6 N is equipped with an 84kWh battery that lets it drive for up to 468km on a single charge, and can be topped up in as fast as 18 minutes through 350kW DC charging. It has also been optimized for better cooling through different driving scenarios.
A more aggressive set of front and rear bumpers, side skirts, wider fenders, along with a swan neck rear wing, improves airflow around the vehicle and stability in high-speed cornering. Also now available is a new Performance Blue Pearl exterior paint job, which adds a pearl finish to the standard and N-exclusive and signature Performance Blue color.

Further improving the driving experience is a fully redesigned suspension and reengineered chassis, which enhances handling and precision, and track performance. New stroke sensing suspension dampers improve ride quality and, of course, handling.
Yup, that’s a lot, but it shows how serious Hyundai really is in strengthening the fully electric performance vehicle segment. No information has been announced on the Ioniq 6 N’s sale, but we can expect it to begin within the year, if not next year.

As for the Philippine market, we won’t be surprised to see it become available locally, especially with Hyundai Motor Philippines currently offering the Ioniq 5 N and the Elantra N locally, and enjoying a decent amount of sales too.
