The Hyundai Venue returns to PH with a Php 778K starting price
Hyundai Motor Philippines (HMPH) is on an old nameplate revival spree. After reintroducing the Elantra and Kona, the Venue now gets a second life in the local market. Second time’s the charm, as they say.
Offered previously under the Korean automaker’s former distributor as their entry-level crossover, the Venue lived a short life in our market, sold locally just from 2020 to 2022, and dropped upon HMPH’s takeover.
For its return, the Hyundai Venue sits below the Creta, and now comes in three variants which are as follows, along with their prices:
- 1.6 GL M/T – Php 778,000
- 1.6 GL A/T – Php 898,000
- 1.6 GLS A/T – Php 998,000
It still looks very much like what was previously on offer, hence it wears Hyundai’s previous design language from the late 2010’s, highlighted by the cascading front grille, matched with split headlights. The interior also remains the same with a simple and clean design, fitting for a small crossover.
The lower GL variants get 15-inch alloy wheels, while the top-spec GLS variant gets larger 17-inch wheels. Inside, all get an analog gauge cluster with a 4.2-inch multi-info display (3.5-inches on GL M/T) along with an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Also exclusive to the GLS are push-button start and leatherette seat upholstery.
Under the hood, all variants of the Hyundai Venue are powered by a 1.6-liter Gamma MPi engine that produces 123 horsepower and 151 Nm of torque, mated to either a six-speed manual (1.6 GL M/T) or a six-speed automatic transmission (1.6 GL and GLS A/T).
With the return of the Hyundai Venue, the Korean automaker now has a model to battle the likes of the popular Toyota Raize and Kia Sonet, and other small crossovers. Want to see it in person?
