The Mitsubishi Destinator passes through the LTO, is its local arrival imminent?

Mitsubishi’s latest three-row crossover, the Destinator, was unveiled back in Indonesia in July 2025. This was a model aimed squarely at the Southeast Asian (SEA) market, so it makes sense that Mitsubishi Motors Philippines also started teasing the model back in August 2025, meaning the manufacturer’s intent of introducing the nameplate to our market is clear as day.

And sure enough, thanks to two homologation papers revealed by the Land Transportation Office, we know that the Destinator will most likely be offered in two variants, the GT and GLS, similar to its smaller Xforce sibling.

While preliminary numbers from the document don’t reveal much, we can confirm that the Destinator will measure 4,680mm long, 1,780mm tall, and 1,840mm wide, with a generous wheelbase of 2,815mm, perfect for accommodating the seven passengers within.

It’s powered by the 1.5-liter (4B40) four-cylinder turbocharged MIVEC engine rated at 163 horsepower and 250Nm of torque, mated to a CVT that sends power to the front wheels. Both variants will ride on 18-inch alloy wheels, with a ground clearance of 214mm.

It would be easy to assume that the differences between the two variants would come down to the number of features available, like the varied interior upholstery, the possible exclusion of a panoramic sunroof, the Dynamic Sound Yamaha Premium sound system, and the Diamond Sense advanced driver-assistance systems.

Where do you think the Destinator will slot in, and how much do you think Mitsubishi Motors Philippines will price it at?
