The Mitsubishi Xforce gets the hybrid powertrain it deserves

The moment that we’ve all been waiting for has finally arrived. The Mitsubishi Xforce is getting the heart it deserves and needs.
Revealed today for the Thai market and officially called the Xforce HEV, it gives the subcompact crossover a much-needed boost with an electrified powertrain taken out of the Xpander HEV which was revealed last year.

Propelling the Xforce HEV is Mitsubishi’s e:Motion hybrid system. This is composed of a 1.6-liter (4A92) four-cylinder DOHC MIVEC gasoline engine paired to an electric motor and lithium-ion battery.
This produces a respectable combined output of 116 horsepower and 255 Nm of torque. That is a small 11 horsepower and large 144 Nm increase compared to the 4A91. It is mated to an e-CVT.

Like the non-hybrid variants, the Xforce HEV gets Normal, Gravel, Wet, and Mud driving modes. It does however get the addition of Tarmac, EV Priority, and Charge modes.

In terms of looks and features, the Xforce HEV maintains most of the stuff you’ll find on the standard Xforce.
It is set apart from by a more rugged front and rear bumper design, X-F-O-R-C-E lettering on the hood, HEV badging, and silver front grille accents. It also gets clear taillight lenses, a larger tailgate spoiler, and its own unique set of 18-inch two-tone alloy wheels.

Inside, it still gets leather seats, Melangé Fabric on the dashboard, a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system with both wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a Dynamic Sound Yamaha Premium audio system.

Curious to see the Mitsubishi Xforce HEV in the metal? It will make its first public appearance at the upcoming Bangkok International Motor Show (BIMS) which is happening from March 24 to April 5, 2025. We’ll be there for coverage so be sure to stay tuned.
