The Nissan Navara is now more affordable

The best news to hit the automotive industry the past week is about the suspension of the collection of safeguard bonds by the Department of Trade Industry (DTI) on new car imports. When the Nissan Navara was launched earlier this year, Nissan Philippines included the bonds in the model’s suggested retail price, unlike other car companies who collected deposits instead.

With the news, Nissan Philippines announces that it will be adjusting the standard retail price of the Navara lineup. This will make the popular pick-up truck more affordable.

The adjustment follows the DTI’s Administrative Order No. 21-04 published on August 11, 2021, dismissing the petition for general safeguard measures on the importation of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles, based on the formal recommendation from the Tariff Commission (TC).

“Nissan welcomes the decision of the Tariff Commission and Department of Trade and Industry not to implement definitive general safeguard duties on imported vehicles. We believe this move greatly benefits our customers and the automotive industry as a whole,” says Atsushi Najima, President and Managing Director for Nissan in the Philippines.

Starting August 12, the Nissan Navara will be available at these prices:

  • Navara 2.5 EL 4×2 M/T – Php 1,026,000 (from Php 1,149,000)
  • Navara 2.5 VE Calibre 4×2 M/T – Php 1,256,000 (from Php 1,369,000)
  • Navara 2.5 VE Calibre 4×2 A/T – Php 1,336,000 (from Php 1,459,000)
  • Navara 2.5 VL Calibre 4×2 A/T – Php 1,476,000 (from Php 1,599,000)
  • Navara 2.5 VE 4×4 M/T – Php 1,376,000 (from Php 1,499,000)
  • Navara 2.5 VL 4×4 M/T – Php 1,576,000 (from Php 1,699,000)
  • Navara 2.5 VL 4×4 A/T – Php 1,656,000 (from Php 1,779,000)
  • Navara 2.5 PRO-4X 4×4 A/T – Php 1,746,000 (from Php 1,849,000)

For those who already bought their 2021 Nissan Navara, you don’t have to worry. Customers who have purchased the 2021 Nissan Navara between April 8 and August 11 are eligible for a non-interest bearing rebate of the safeguard duties included in the original price announced during the launch of the popular pickup. Nissan dealerships will reach out to customers entitled to the rebate to inform and guide them throughout a timely and orderly rebate process.

For more information on the rebate process, customers can also call the Nissan Customer Assistance Center at (02) 8403-6593.

With the Nissan Navara now appearing more affordable than some of its rivals, would the new prices help you choose it over others?
