The Toyota GR Yaris Aero Performance Package is coming to Australia, will the PH get it?

If you remember our 2025 Tokyo Auto Salon coverage from earlier this year, we stumbled across a Toyota GR Yaris prototype on display with the Aero Package.

This fully functional aerodynamics kit was the result of Toyota Gazoo Racing’s participation and learnings in the likes of the World Rally Championship and Super Taikyu series, developed specifically to improve handling. Within the year, it went on sale in Japan first, shortly followed by Europe. Now, Australia will be getting it soon in late 2025, meaning the possibility of our country getting it is higher than ever.

For what these six parts do, the large cooling duct and grille on the hood help the car discharge heat from the engine, alongside keeping the 1.6-liter turbocharged three-cylinder (the G16E-GTS) cooler.

This is followed by a new lip spoiler and front fender ducts developed with input from professional racing driver Kazuya Oshima, who participated in Super Taikyu, Super Formula, and Super GT. The front lip will help suppress front lift, and the ducts will help reroute excess air to improve steering feel under heavy braking, making the car more stable upon corner entry.

There is a massive adjustable rear spoiler that is customizable, depending on your preference, which can aid in handling and downforce.
The rear bumper also gets ducts, and combined with the floor cover, these two should help smooth airflow under the vehicle.

In Australia, the aero package is available as a separate trim that also adds a Torsen limited-slip differential, an uprated suspension, 18-inch forged alloy wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S rubber, which explains the 4,500 AUD (roughly Php 171,200) price difference.
All of these bits are available on our Philippine-spec GR Yaris, meaning that should Toyota Motor Philippines introduce this to our GR Yaris, this aero package might not even cost as much as its asking price in Australia.
