The Trailseeker is Subaru’s 2nd full EV

While everyone is focused on criticizing Subaru for the sacrilege they’ve done to the Outback, the Japanese automaker has also unveiled their second fully-electric vehicle.

Say hello to the Subaru Trailseeker which is designed primarily for the North American market, and sits above the Solterra compact electric crossover in the brand’s lineup, which in turn is based on the Toyota bZ4X.

Essentially a larger Subaru Solterra, the Trailseeker wears wagon-like styling with stretched bZ4X looks. It measures at 152mm longer and 25mm taller than the Solterra, and debuts Subaru’s new signature EV lighting and features an illuminated six-star emblem.

The cabin follows a horizontal theme for the dashboard which features a 14-inch touchscreen that features wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, and a wide center console with two 15W wireless phone chargers.

The Trailmaster is powered by a dual-motor all-wheel drive system that produces a combined 381 horsepower, paired to a 74.7kWh lithium-ion battery that allows it to drive approximately up to 418km on a single charge.

0 to 100kph acceleration time is also claimed at 4.4 seconds which should be enough for it to outrun a WRX STi in its last iteration.

It’s also equipped with Subaru’s X-Mode system which includes Snow/Dirt and Deep Snow/Mud modes, Grip Control, and Downhill Assist Control, all designed for those who like to drive on unpaved roads.

Of course, being a Subaru, the Trailseeker is equipped with the EyeSight suite of advanced safety systems which includes autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane change assist, and more.

What do you think of the Subaru Trailseeker? We doubt this will arrive in the Philippine market as it’s designed again only for the North American market. But who knows.
