These are the special F1 liveries for this year’s Miami GP

Every now and then, Formula 1 teams switch things up by applying special liveries to their cars to draw attention to their teams.
Sometimes, they’re complete palette changes, other times, they’re callbacks to iconic color schemes of the past, like Red Bull‘s stunning Championship White livery with the HONDA word mark as tribute to its engine supplier’s past, or McLaren‘s iconic blue-and-orange Gulf livery.
This year, the sunny Miami Grand Prix holds home to three special liveries from Racing Bulls, Scuderia Ferrari, and Sauber.
RACING BULLS

The team ditches its blue-and-white colors in favor of a magenta-and-white color scheme, which was inspired by the limited-edition Red Bull “Summer Edition White Peach” flavor.

Apart from drivers Isack Hadjar and Liam Lawson donning matching racing suits, one special touch are the can-top wheel covers, which adds a quirky touch to what would’ve otherwise been a simple recolor.
SCUDERIA FERRARI

Now, this one isn’t that revolutionary compared to Racing Bulls’, but rather, it is meant to commemorate the team’s one-year partnership with HP as their title sponsor.

It isn’t simply just wrapping the latter half of the car (and its drivers) in blue-and-white colors, but it’s also special as this car wrap was developed in conjunction with HP to make it 14% lighter and 17% thinner, with improved heat resistance, all while making it more eco-friendly by making it fully recyclable.
SAUBER

This livery looks like this season’s Sauber livery, down to the same neon green-and-black color scheme, until you realize the way it has been applied to the car (and its drivers, again).

The manner of which this has been applied is reminiscent of a “bold canvas of modern art”, meaning the paint splatters all over the car is intentional, evoking the feeling of freshly applied paint on the car before it hits the track.
Which car is your favorite livery? Catch the Miami Grand Prix this Monday, May 5, at 4:00am, PST.
