This is how Toyota Motor Philippines performed in 2025

It’s no surprise that Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has consistently taken the top spot in the Philippine automotive market. And in its press conference yesterday held at the Grand Hyatt in Bonifacio Global City, TMP Senior Vice President for Marketing Sherwin Chua-Lim revealed the exact figures of the automaker’s stellar performance in 2025.

First off, TMP still takes the top spot of the market with a massive 46.6%, having moved 229,447 vehicles, counting both Toyota and Lexus, and gives the Philippines the honor of being the 10th biggest market for Toyota globally, and sitting very, very close behind Thailand in terms of sales.

As for what made up that huge number, 19,516 are electrified, a massive 40% growth versus 2024, and bringing up the total of xEV (both BEV and HEV) units to 44,228 sold since 2009 with the introduction of the second-generation Prius at that time.

Lexus sold 1,852 units last year, making them the best-selling luxury automaker in the country once again, with 52% market share in the luxury segment. 1,692 of them are electrified, considering the majority of their lineup has been hybridized—save for a few models like the IS 350, the GX 550, and the LC 500 and LS 500.

The three top sellers of Toyota are the Vios with 27,811 units moved, followed by the Avanza with 24,704 units, and the Hilux with 23,735 units sold. As for Lexus, the top three are the NX with 735 units, the RX with 312 units, and the LM with 296 units.

For the locally produced models (CKD), 63,803 units of the Vios, Tamaraw, and Innova have been produced at the Santa Rosa plant in Laguna, a record high since 1989, with the Vios taking the top spot, followed by the Tamaraw and Innova in terms of volume made.

The Tamaraw also managed to sell 17,524 units since it was introduced, and it continues to grow with new in-house conversions like the Ambulance, the Telco Van, and the Race Vehicle.

Finally, all of this has resulted in 83,000+ people employed by Toyota Motor Philippines, including direct employees, suppliers, dealers, and subsidiaries, and a massive 26% of auto parts made in the Philippines exported by the Toyota Group, with a grand total of around USD 1 billion of export sales, showing how the company also gives back to the Philippine economy, too.
