This is the facelifted Hyundai Stargazer before you’re supposed to see it

Hyundai Motors Indonesia has began teasing the updated Stargazer.

The Hyundai Stargazer is a popular option for buyers looking for a compact but spacious MPV that stands out from the crowd with its futuristic and unconventional styling. Launched in our market in 2023, the Korean automaker is already preparing to unveil a big mid-cycle update for the Indonesian market where the seven-seater MPV is produced.

Spotted uncamouflaged on Indonesian roads recently, posted by TikTok user ayam gosong, we’re able to see what we can expect from the refreshed Stargazer.

Here’s the new Hyundai Stargazer before you’re supposed to see it.

Looking at the photos, the Stargazer strays away with its current Staria-like styling direction and moves toward something more like the new Creta which was recently launched locally. The spy shots also match the teasers posted on the Hyundai Motors Indonesia Facebook page (see main photo).

While the body retains the same shape, the front and rear are completely different. The front fascia is more upright and now features a single unit for the headlights and a large grille with an integrated light bar, and the bumpers receive a more sculpted loo. This gives it an overall SUV-like appearance.

What do you think?

The rear loses the thin H-shape lighting signature in favor of a thicker one, along with a slimmer overall taillight cluster design. The license plate has been moved to the bumper and the wheels get a simpler and cleaner look with a five-spoke design.

No photos of the interior are available but we won’t be surprised if it also gets a heavy redesign, probably taking cues from the Creta as well with large dual screens with new user interfaces.

We can also expect it to carry-over its current powertrain which is a 1.5-liter Smartstream G engine that makes 115 horsepower and 144Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed manual transmission or CVT.

We might not have to wait long for the new Hyundai Stargazer to be revealed as its teaser campaign has already started. Are you looking forward to this redesign?
