Toyota brings the manual GR Supra to the PH

Recently, we reported that Toyota Motor Philippines silently updated the GR Supra to the unofficially dubbed “A91” revision last December 2024. A well-deserved update, for sure, but other countries such as the United States and Japan have gotten a more desirable version with a manual transmission.

That variant of the sports car was nowhere to be seen at the time of the model’s update in our country, but Toyota Motor Philippines has announced via its Facebook page that the three-pedaled variant is now officially available in our country.

It has the obvious inclusion of a six-speed manual transmission and the intelligent Manual Transmission software which allows for consistent performance between shifts, but this can also be disabled if the driver prefers in Sport mode.

The traction control has also been recalibrated specifically for the manual transmission, alongside a new Hairpin+ function which allows for more wheel spin for more fun in tight corners, and an Anti-Roll Program that prevents snap-off oversteer.

Like before, the changes are mostly under the hood with the 3.0-liter turbocharged straight six (B58), now pushing 387 horsepower and 500Nm, handling and chassis tuning, and forged aluminum 19-inch wheels.

Prices have taken a slight hike, probably due to inflation. They now start at Php 5,552,000 for Prominence Red, with an additional Php 60,000 for Black Metallic, Volcanic Ash Gray Metallic, Dawn Blue Metallic, White Metallic, and Plasma Orange, and an additional Php 100,000 for Matte Storm Gray Metallic and Matte Avalanche White Metallic.
