Toyota bZ4X confirmed for December launch in PH, here’s what we know

You asked for it, and it’s finally confirmed to arrive. After its wide lineup of hybrid electric vehicles (HEV), Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) is now going fully electric with the upcoming introduction of the bZ4X, slated for December 2025.

TMP has opened reservations for its first battery electric vehicle (BEV) offering in our market, a little over a year after it was previewed at the 2024 Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS), and a few months after it saw a mid-cycle refresh.

Full specifications have also been confirmed for the Philippine-spec bZ4X, which will be exclusively available in AWD form.

This means it will be powered by a pair of electric motors (front and rear), producing a combined 373 horsepower and 338Nm of torque. This is paired to a 73.1kWh lithium-ion battery, allowing it to drive for up to 573km on a single charge.

And unlike what we saw at the model’s initial market preview, launched is the facelifted version, which wears Toyota’s Hammerhead design with its C-shaped DRL signature, connected by a slim lightbar, while the headlights are on the bumper.

Standard exterior features include full LED lighting, power folding mirrors with heating and auto-dimming function, 20-inch alloy wheels, and a panoramic sunroof. Color options are Emotional Red (+Php 20,000), Precious Metal, Dark Blue Mica, and Platinum White Pearl Mica (+Php 15,000).

Meanwhile, the interior features a layered dashboard layout, a larger infotainment screen, and a redesigned center console.

Standard interior features are leather seats, eight-way power front seats (with memory function for driver), a seven-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto (both wireless), eight-speaker audio system, dual wireless phone chargers, and a digital rear-view mirror.

Of course, the Toyota bZ4X comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense (TSS), which gives it adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, automatic and adaptive high beams, lane tracing assist, and lane departure alert.

Pricing for the Toyota bZ4X AWD has also been announced, starting at Php 2,699,000. Customers will also be able to take advantage of a five-year or 150,000km vehicle warranty and an eight-year or 200,000km battery warranty.

Now it is quite pricey compared to some of its popular segment rivals, especially those from China, but surely a fully electric Toyota will sound enticing to many buyers. What do you think of the PH-spec Toyota bZ4X?
