Toyota Innova facelift leaked online
It seems like the most popular MPV in the Philippines may be getting an update soon. Actual photos of what appears to be a facelifted version of the Toyota Innova have found their way online. The photos appear to have been taken in Indonesia and were posted on RushLane.com.
This does not come as a surprise as both the Toyota Fortuner midsize SUV and Hilux pick-up truck both got mid-cycle updates a few months ago. The Innova shares its platform with the two models.
The changes on the Toyota Innova appear to be minor such as a new and larger front grille similar to that on the recently updated Toyota Hilux. It also gets a new bumper with new housings for the turn signals which no longer share them with the fog lights which can now be found lower on the bumper. As for the headlights, it looks like both the LED and halogen options will be carried over. A new set of two-tone alloy wheels can be seen in the photos as well. The rear on the other hand does not get any changes except for a new license plate holder on the V-variant.
For the interior, no changes are visible except for the larger touchscreen infotainment display which could be 8 or 9 inches in size. The rest of it, including the seat pattern remains the same.
The Innova shown in the spy photos show both 2.0 E and 2.4 V badges. This means they have either the 2.0L petrol or 2.4L turbodiesel under the hood. Most likely the Philippine market will retain the options of the former and the 2.8L turbodiesel shared with the Toyota Hiace.
There is no news yet as to when the facelifted Toyota Innova, also known as Kijang in Indonesia, will be officially revealed. It could be soon though as photos on other websites also show the MPV being carried on delivery trucks which could be bound for dealers. For the local market, we can expect it a few months after given that it is locally assembled in Toyota Motor Philippines’ Sta. Rosa, Laguna plant.
