Toyota Innova Zenix to be available in PH with two variants, hybrid, launching soon
Probably one of the most awaited models to enter the Philippine market this year, the all-new 3rd generation Toyota Innova is close to finally coming here.
Built on the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA-C) platform, the all-new Innova was revealed for the Indonesian market in November last year. For us, it will be known as the Innova Zenix and will be sold alongside the 2nd generation Innova as a separate model.
In terms of variants, the Innova Zenix will be on the upper-end of the local Innova lineup with two options. First is the Innova Zenix 2.0 V CVT, and second, on top of the range, is the Innova Zenix 2.0 Q Hybrid CVT. Yes, the Innova Zenix will come in both pure gasoline and hybrid powertrains.
In terms of looks, the Innova Zenix is an evolution of the 2nd generation Innova. It shares several design cues with other Toyota MPVs such as the Rush, Avanza, and even the Sienna. Some features are slimmer headlights, a large front grille, and daytime running lights mounted on the bumper. As for the interior, it gets a more modern and squarish interior as opposed to the outgoing version’s curvy design. The center stack also looks inspired by the Toyota Land Cruiser 300. The V gets an 8-seater configuration while the Q is a 7-seater.
Expected standard equipment on the 2023 Toyota Innova Zenix are 18-inch alloy wheels, electronic parking brake, ambient lighting, paddle shifters, 7-inch multi-information display, 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto connectivity, 360-degree Panoramic View Monitor, Blind Spot Monitor, and USB Type-C charging ports.
Exclusive to the 2.0 Q Hybrid are LED headlights and front fog lights, Overfenders, leather seats, 8-way power adjustable driver’s seat, 2nd row captain’s seats with slide, power recline and power ottoman, and parking sensors.
Six exterior colors will be available. These are Dark Steel Mica, Blackish Brown Mica, Attitude Black Mica, Gray Metallic, Silver Metallic, and Platinum White Pearl.
Powering the Toyota Innova Zenix is a new 2.0-liter Inline 4-cylinder Dual VVT-iE Dynamic Force gasoline engine. For the V variant, it produces 174 horsepower and 205 Nm of torque.
For the Q, it is paired with an electric motor and 6.5-Ah nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) battery. The internal combustion engine alone produces 150 horsepower and 188 Nm of torque. Combined power output is at 186 horsepower. Both powertrain options are mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) that sends power to the front wheels.
In case you’re wondering, the well-loved 2.8-liter 1GD-FTV turbodiesel will continue to be available albeit only on the current 2nd generation Innova which again will continue to be sold in our market.
In terms of safety, the all-new Toyota Innova Zenix also gets a huge upgrade compared to the regular Innova as it now comes with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0. Also, the Q gets additional safety with six airbags.
Pricing for the 2023 Toyota Innova Zenix will start at Php 1,670,000 for the 2.0 V CVT variant. The 2.0 Q Hybrid CVT variant will be priced at Php 1,953,000. Local sales will officially begin on June 22, 2023.
