Toyota Motor PH endorses second End-of-Life Vehicle dismantling facility in PH

When vehicles can no longer be put to good use and have effectively reached the end of their lives, whether new or old, they usually end up taking up precious space or becoming an eyesore. Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) knows this, which is why it has endorsed another End-of-Life Vehicle (ELV) dismantling facility.

Located in Naic, Cavite, the ELV dismantling facility is operated by Standard Insurance Co., Inc. and is the second facility of its kind in the Philippines to be included in the Toyota Global 100 Dismantlers Project. This comes after TMP endorsed En Tsumugi ELV Dismantler Corporation’s ELV dismantling facility in Mexico, Pampanga, last year.

ELV dismantling facilities for the automotive industry cycle. These facilities ensure that inoperable vehicles are processed responsibly, helping minimize environmental impact by safely managing hazardous materials and maximizing resource recovery for reintroduction into the manufacturing cycle, putting otherwise already useless vehicles into good use.

Backed by a Php 17.8-million investment, Standard Insurance’s ELV dismantling operations primarily handle vehicles insured under its portfolio, with an average of 850 vehicles dismantled annually. The Cavite facility spans approximately 8,840sqm and has a dismantling capacity of up to six units per day.

The Toyota Global 100 Dismantlers Project is a worldwide initiative that seeks to establish proper ELV dismantling operations in different strategic locations around the world. Through this network, the Japanese automaker aims to address key environmental challenges such as pollution and resource depletion by promoting responsible disposal and recycling practices.
