Toyota Motor PH Foundation celebrates 35th year with new ‘Mobility+’ advocacy and HEAL project

The Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) Foundation, the social and humanitarian arm of Toyota Motor Philippines, is celebrating 35 years of presence with the launch of a new advocacy and strategic partnership.

Dubbed as Mobility+, this new advocacy pillar is built on strategic partnerships and aims to improve healthcare access.

For the coming years, plans of the TMP Foundation include enhanced support to the GT-Toyota Asian Cultural Center (GT-TACC) and collaboration with academic institutions, technical vocational scholarships, community healthcare services, food security programs, and environmental sustainability.

And among its new initiatives is HEAL Project. Standing for Healthcare Mobility For All, this project is a partnership with the Toyota Mobility Foundation (TMF) and Philippine General Hospital (PGH).

Spearheaded by TMF Japan, the HEAL Project is designed to address critical mobility needs and improve access to basic healthcare services in underserved communities.

This will be achieved through the deployment of two mobile clinics along with three dedicated shuttle vehicles.

The mobile clinics, based on the Toyota Coaster, will initially be utilized to deliver essential medical laboratory services directly to patients in the town of Ternate, Cavite and surrounding areas of New Clark City in Tarlac province. These will also be equipped with diagnostic services and will be connected to PGH’s existing system that allows online consultation booking, which may also be supported by a new queueing system to help ensure efficient operations.

Meanwhile, the three shuttle service vehicles based on the Toyota Tamaraw UV variant, will provide healthcare workers transportation to and from the PGH main facility in the City of Manila, and the UP-PGH Clinic in New Clark City in Central Luzon.

The Toyota Mobility Foundation, established by the Toyota Motor Corporation in August 2014 in Japan, works globally to develop more mobile societies and eliminate mobility disparities. The Philippines is the newest to join the roster of TMF grant countries.

And with its new advocacy of Mobility+ and the HEAL project, the Toyota Motor Philippines Foundation’s new focus will not only introduce new initiatives but also enhance existing programs by leveraging on mobility.
