Toyota Raize spotted in PH, launching next month

News of the upcoming launch of the 2022 Toyota Raize is pretty much all over social media today. Lots of information has even found its way to different media sites.

While Toyota Motor Philippines has not confirmed an exact launch date, various reports have mentioned that it will be held next month in February. Well it’s surely soon as a unit has already been spotted on Philippine roads.

One of our followers has sent us a photo of what is obviously the Toyota Raize being transported on a truck in Batangas City, where most brand new cars enter Philippine soil after being transported from outside the country.

While we don’t have much information in our hands, different fellow automotive media outlets have already gathered various information regarding the upcoming new model. First is variants and pricing where it is said to start with the 1.2 E M/T for Php 746,000. Next is the 1.2 E CVT at Php 816,000, the 1.2 G CVT for Php 946,000, and the range-topping 1.0 Turbo CVT for Php 1,031,000.

The first engine option for the first three variants would be a 1.2 L naturally-aspirated petrol engine that produces 88 hp and 113 Nm of torque, paired to either a 5-speed manual transmission or CVT. The top-spec variant meanwhile will be powered by a 1.0 L 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that is capable of producing 98 hp and 140 Nm of torque, exclusively paired to a CVT.

Also according to various reports, some features would include, depending on the variant, LED headlights, 16 or 17-inch alloy wheels, power folding side mirrors, and sequential turn signals. Inside, the Raize could get either an 8- or 9-inch infotainment system depending on the variant, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, push button start, and a 7-inch digital instrument cluster.

While most of its specifications are admittedly nowhere close to some of its similarly priced Chinese competitors, the Raize will surely still be able to win the hearts of many, being a Toyota. Hopefully we get some more information as we move closer to the launch.

What do you think of the Toyota Raize?
