Toyota resumes production at Sta. Rosa, Laguna plant

The largest automaker in the country resumes local production.

Toyota Motor Philippines announced that it has resumed production of vehicles at its Santa Rosa, Laguna plant, starting on May 18, 2020. Under modified enhanced community quarantine guidelines, the company is allowed to restart operations but only with 50% capacity.

Toyota currently builds two models in their Sta. Rosa factory. First is the Toyota Innova, the best selling multi-purpose vehicle in the country. The second is the Toyota Vios which is the best selling vehicle in the country.

The company also said that prior to resumption of operations, precautionary measures were conducted in the plant to ensure safety and adherence to production protocols. All employees reporting to work have also been briefed on different safety guidelines and measures that will be strictly followed in the plant. As mentioned, they can only operate with 50% capacity as mandated by the government in the MECQ guidelines.

In addition, TMP also announced that as of May 20, 66 out of their 70 dealers nationwide have resumed operations but with safety and sanitation guidelines also in place. All customers are encouraged to set an appointment before visiting a dealership as dealerships will also be operating at 50% capacity.

Aside from that, other services at Toyota service centers have also resumed. These are the Toyota Alabang Service Center, Toyota Shaw Service Center, Toyota North EDSA Service Center, Toyota Davao Body and Paint Center, and Toyota Negros Occidental Service Center.
