All-new Toyota Innova to be called simply “Zenix” once it launches in PH
In what comes as a not so surprising move, Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) will sell the 3rd generation Innova alongside the current and extremely popular 2nd generation version, once it launches here in the Philippines.
Known as the Innova Zenix in Indonesia where it was revealed last year, it will simply be called the Zenix here in the Philippines in order to differentiate it with the IMV-based Innova. This is similar to what Toyota has done to the Veloz in order to differentiate it with the Avanza, though it won’t be sold as a separate model.
TMP previewed the all-new Toyota Zenix to select members of motoring media at the recently concluded 16th Toyota Road Trek in Bohol. They revealed that it will come in two variants: 2.0 V CVT and 2.0 Q Hybrid CVT. It will also now come with Toyota Safety Sense giving safety a huge upgrade.
Powering the Toyota Innova Zenix is a new 2.0-liter Inline 4-cylinder Dual VVT-iE Dynamic Force gasoline engine. For the V variant, it produces 174 horsepower and 205 Nm of torque. For the Q, it is paired with an electric motor and 6.5-Ah nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) battery. The internal combustion engine alone produces 150 horsepower and 188 Nm of torque. Combined power output is at 186 horsepower. Both powertrain options are mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) that sends power to the front wheels.
More information on some specifications and features of the local-spec Toyota Zenix can be found here.
Pricing for the all-new Toyota Zenix was also already revealed. The 2.0 V CVT will be priced at Php 1,670,000 while the 2.0 Q Hybrid CVT with all the bells and whistles will be priced at Php 1,953,000.
You might be wondering how long it’ll take for the Toyota Zenix to arrive in the Philippines. Well, we won’t have to wait too long as it will officially launch on June 22, 2023, just a few days from now. If we’re not mistaken, Toyota dealers are already accepting reservations for the all-new Toyota Zenix.
What do you think of the all-new Toyota Zenix? Hopefully we get to try it out soon and share with you our impressions.
