Turbo-hybrid Kia Sorento launches in PH with Php 2.188M starting price
You’ve probably already heard the news of the updated Kia Sorento arriving in the Philippines with an all-hybrid lineup. Well, Kia Philippines has officially launched it today.
The current generation Kia Sorento was initially introduced here in our market in 2021 for the 2022 model year. This update brings a host of heavy styling, tech, and mechanical changes to one of the Korean automaker’s longest-running nameplates in the country.
Three variants are available with the following prices:
- Sorento 1.6 Turbo HEV EX – Php 2,188,000
- Sorento 1.6 Turbo HEV EX+ – Php 2,588,000
- Sorento 1.6 Turbo HEV SX – Php 2,888,000
And yes, the Sorento is no longer available with an oil-burning turbodiesel powertrain in favor of a new hybrid powertrain.
All variants now get a 1.6-liter Smartstream G turbocharged gasoline engine paired to an 44 kW electric motor and lithium-ion battery. Combined output is 235 horsepower and 367 Nm of torque, mated to 6-speed automatic transmission.
Sounds familiar? It’s shared with the Hyundai Santa Fe and Tucson hybrids which were launched last year.
Everything you want to know about the 2025 Kia Sorento can be found here.
With the growing popularity of electrified vehicles in the market, Kia Philippines definitely wants a slice of the pie. Do you think the new Kia Sorento turbo-hybrid has what it takes to steal sales from the more popular pickup-based SUVs?
