Updated 2020 Toyota Vios makes global debut
Everyone knows what the Toyota Vios is. Once you step out of your house, there is a 100% chance that you come by one of these subcompact sedans. This isn’t surprising as it has been the bestselling car in the Philippines for years.
Yesterday, after a couple of teasers on social media, Toyota Philippines unveiled the updated version of the popular subcompact with some new details in the front fascia and some new features as well that should keep it very competitive in the segment that it dominates.
For the exterior, most of the changes for this update can be seen on the front fascia. First is the front grille which looks like a combination of what you would see on the Toyota Corolla Altis or Camry, and a Lexus. The G variant also now gets new LED headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights. LED fog lights are also standard on the mid XLE variant and above. Wheel designs remain unchanged at 16-inch two-tone alloys for the G, 15-inch alloys for the XLE and E, and steel wheels for the rest of the lineup.
Inside, the updated Toyota Vios remains basically the same as the model it replaces. XE and up variants get a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that comes with the usual USB, Auxiliary, and Bluetooth connectivity, as well as Weblink phone mirroring. The G variant also gets additional features and equipment such as a reverse camera, digital climate control, power-folding mirrors, and leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear shifter.
As for safety, standard on all variants are electronic stability control and hill start assist. XLE and below variants get dual front airbags and a driver’s knee airbag as standard but side and curtain airbags can be added. The E and G variants get all seven airbags as standard.

There is an additional Php 15,000 for the White Pearl color option which is available on the 1.5 G variant.
The 2020 Toyota Vios is now available in all Toyota dealerships in the Philippines.
