Valenzuela City’s police fleet gets electrified with 41 BYD Dolphins

The electric age in the Philippines truly is upon us, especially locally as the city of Valenzuela has taken delivery of its 41 BYD Dolphin EVs to be utilized as patrol cars in the area, making it the first local government unit to have a large electric police vehicle fleet.
From these 41 units, 35 will be part of the Valenzuela City Police Station for patrol and law enforcement duties, 5 are meant for the city government offices, and 1 will be a first responder vehicle, all fitted with the appropriate gear, with police units having lights, sirens, and communication systems.

Alongside this, to be able to serve these 41 vehicles that will be patrolling the streets and to aid the local government unit’s modernization efforts, Greenstrum, an ACMobility subsidiary, has installed 15 7kW AC chargers across 12 locations in the city with more to come in the future, especially a 60kW DC fast charger that can be found at the Alert Station for rapid charging and deployment, should it be needed.
“By aiming to be the first LGU in the Philippines with the largest fleet of electric vehicles and the most extensive network of government and public charging stations strategically located in NLEX, in MacArthur, and in Mindanao Avenue, we have become torchbearers of the country,” said Wes Gatchalian, Mayor of Valenzuela City.
“This is just the beginning of a transformative journey. By strategically placing charging stations in major thoroughfares and vibrant urban centers, we are promoting the use and making the transition to electric vehicles effortless, convenient, and accessible to all Valenzuelanos.”
