VinFast to bring into PH its lineup of electric scooters

VinFast is bringing its electric scooter lineup to more markets outside of Vietnam, specifically in Indonesia, India, Thailand, Malaysia, and here in the Philippines.

Our market, a highly competitive and very strong one for motorcycles with millions sold yearly, will be the first among the aforementioned expansion markets for the Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer’s e-scooters.

The brand’s e-scooter lineup will be sold under three lines—mainstream, premium, and sport. The initial lineup will be composed of the Flazz, Evo, Feliz II, and Viper; all of which come with battery-swapping capabilities.

Based on what’s available in the brand’s home market of Vietnam, here’s what we know about these e-scooters

The Flazz is powered by a 600W (0.6kW) electric motor that’s capable of a modest 39kph top speed, with a 1.2kWh LFP battery that allows it to go up to 70km on a single charge. Its wheelbase measures at 1,230mm, it weighs 130kg, and underseat storage is pegged at 14L (8L with extra battery).

Meanwhile, available information for the three other models are a bit limited. The Evo is powered by a 2,450W (2.45kW) electric motor, paired to a 1.5kWh LFP battery, with a driving range of up to 165km on a single charge. The Feliz II and Viper are similar to each other, both powered by a 3,000W (3kW) electric motor, also with a 1.5kWh LFP battery, with a driving range of up to 156km.

These models will be sold in separate dealerships from the brand’s four-wheeled EV lineup. VinFast has also already partnered with five motorcycle dealership companies in Luzon and Mindanao for its initial e-scooter dealership network—Maverick Racing Factory Inc., MotorCentral, New Nemar Development Corp., Supremebike Corporation, and ARC Trading.

With the popularity of motorcycles, and growing market for electric scooters, do you think VinFast’s offerings will gain success in the country?
