Geely sales in PH reach all-time high in July 2022
Geely’s performance in the Philippines is proof of how the brand has easily won the hearts of many Filipino car buyers as they record an all-time high sales figure for the month of July this year.
Under the distributorship of Sojitz G Auto Philippines (SGAP), Geely Philippines was able to sell a total of 1,058 units in the previous month. This surpasses the company’s previous monthly sales record of 1,036 units from March, also this year.
Leading the brand’s local sales for July is the Coolray subcompact crossover which sold 540 units, followed by the Okavango with 396 units sold, then the Emgrand and Azkarra with 91 and 31 units sold respectively.
Also, for the first half of 2022, Geely sold a total of 5,360 units, an 83% growth year on year and surpassing the industry’s growth rate of 15%. This sales figure also puts the brand at number 8 in total sales with a 2.8% market share.
“We are very honored to join the 4 digits club (more than 1,000-unit monthly sales) that we consider as a clear testament of the customers` trust in the Geely brand. Coolray remains to be the best-selling model in the roster of Geely vehicles. The recent introduction of the Coolray Special Edition (SE), with its sportier and distinct look, has led to more customers admiring and getting excited over it,” SGAP President & CEO Yugo Kiyofuji said.
SGAP is also optimistic that it can further capitalize on the Geely Emgrand to further boost its sales volume in the coming months given its good market acceptance in the subcompact sedan segment and ample stock supply. From its launch last February, the Emgrand easily garnered the top 4 ranking in this subcompact sedan segment with total sales of 895 units at the end of July.
“With better supply starting this month complemented with aggressive and really affordable financial plans from our bank partner RCBC, we expect Emgrand to further challenge the top 3 spot in the subcompact sedan segment,” Kiyofuji added.
