Chery Auto PH sales rise by 18% in June 2023
Chery Auto Philippines, under the distributorship of United Asia Automotive Group, Inc. (UAAGI) continues to see positive growth in its sales performance over the past year.
For the first half of 2023, the Chinese automaker was able to sell a total of 1,668 units or 8% more than in the same period in 2022. This places Chery Auto Philippines at the 11th place among other brands in the automotive industry.
At the same time, for the month of June, the company sold a total of 382 units, an 18% increase compared to its May 2023 sales of 323 units. This is also despite industry sales going down by 5%. In addition, this puts the Chery brand at 10th place overall in terms of sales.
Chery Auto Philippines attributes this growth to the strong sales performance of its crossover lineup led by the Tiggo 5X which saw 247 units sold, putting it 2nd in terms of sales in the subcompact crossover segment, holding a 26% market share.
Meanwhile, while the company admits that it is experiencing a shortage of units for the Tiggo 7 Pro, early deliveries of the new Tiggo 7 Pro Hybrid variant easily compensated for the lack of sales, with 76 units already sold. This model will be officially launching before the end of the month.
“We are very pleased that more and more Filipinos are trusting the Chery brand. We are confident that this upward sales momentum will continue as we introduce the new Tiggo 5X Pro Comfort and Hybrid version this month”, UAAGI chairman Rommel Sytin said.
“Accordingly, Chery Auto Philippines’ good sales continues to attract new dealer investors and we are excited to announce the new dealer outlets in key areas very soon.”, Sytin added.
