VinFast is currently Vietnam’s top automaker
VinFast is solidifying its presence in the global market starting with its home market of Vietnam where it was just hailed as the top-selling automaker for the first 10 months of 2024.
The Vietnamese automaker has delivered over 11,000 vehicles to customers in the month of October alone, a 21% increase compared to the previous month.
That figure brings the total of VinFast sales in the said market to over 51,000 units, which as mentioned makes the brand Vietnam’s number one selling automotive brand from January to October this year.
While we don’t have the exact figures, leading their sales is the VF 3 small electric crossover with nearly 5,000 units sold, followed by the VF 5 subcompact electric crossover with over 2,600 units sold.
This feat is also made even more special for the brand as it is the first local electric vehicle manufacturer to outsell gasoline-powered vehicles from foreign car brands, just two years after transitioning into an all-electric lineup. It also effectively makes Vietnam one of the few countries where EVs are leading the market.
Outside Vietnam, the company is expanding its footprint to key markets in North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, including the United States, Canada, Germany, France, and other regions.
This also includes the Philippines where the brand was introduced a few months ago with an all-electric lineup which currently consists of the VF 5, and the recently launched VF 3 and VF 7, with more models to follow soon.
