This is what you can expect from the new Geely Motor PH

One of the biggest pieces of news from the local automotive industry last year was the exit of Sojitz G Auto Philippines Corporation (SGAP) as the distributor of the Geely brand in the country. Now operating as a subsidiary of Geely Automotve International Corporation (GAIC), the brand has been relaunched in the Philippines.
Now operating as Geely Motor Philippines Corporation (GMP), the company is now working on revitalizing the once fast-growing and popular brand in the country.

This is first marked by the launches of updated versions of the popular Coolray subcompact crossover and Emgrand B-segment sedan. The former received a major overhaul which you can read about here, while the latter received just some minor upgrades, those that will prove to be very useful to owners for sure. You can read about that here.

Also previewed was the EX5 compact crossover which will be their first fully-electric offering in our market. This one will compete directly with the likes of the BYD Atto 3 and will be launched by March of this year with a suggested retail price of Php 1,790,000. You can read about that here.

That’s not all though as GMP also announced that they will be introducing a new model for every quarter of the year, which should include a battery electric vehicle (probably the EX5) and a PHEV. No specifics were mentioned as to what these are so we’ll just have to wait and see.

And with the brand’s reputation going into limbo due to aftersales issues, the company aims to fix this, partly with a new 4,700 sqm parts center in Cabuyao, Laguna.
GMP says this facility will help enhance aftersales service by streamlining the distribution of genuine Geely parts across the country. It has in its inventory various Geely vehicle parts such as maintenance items, warranty components, body repair and paint parts, lubricants, accessories, merchandise, special service tools, and consumables.

GMP also wants to work with their customers through Geely GO, another of the brand’s initiatives to improve its services by bringing together a community of owners and connecting with them through sales and aftersales.

“Innovation and inclusivity are at the heart of Geely’s operations,” said GMP President Will Wan. “Geely will not only be making cars, but we are also creating a better way of living. We aim to bring safety, technology, innovative thinking, and cutting-edge design to Filipino users in a more accessible way. We are enabling them to explore new horizons, possibilities, and perspectives to see the world in full.”
