MIAS 2025 | The Chery Tiggo Cross is packed yet affordable at Php 998K

While Chinese car brands brought to our market feature-packed yet affordable products, a lot of have since gone up in pricing. That isn’t the case with Chery Auto Philippines’ latest product.
Say hello to the Chery Tiggo Cross, the Chinese automaker’s newest subcompact crossover offering, launched at the 20th Manila International Auto Show (MIAS), and one that doesn’t break the bank at its suggested retail price of just Php 998,000.

Essentially another facelift (a major one) to the brand’s Tiggo 5X Pro, the Tiggo Cross gets similar styling cues to the larger Tiggo 7 Pro. The front fascia is aggressive with its wraparound LED headlights that flank a large diamond-accented front grille.

Its body remains the same as the Tiggo 5X Pro but with a redesigned rear quarter panel, and it rides on five-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels. The rear also has sleeker Tiger-Stripe LED taillights that form a light bar. Noticeable as well is the new Chery emblem in front and Chery name spelled-out the back.

Inside, the cabin is much like what you’ll see in the Tiggo 8 Pro e+ midsize crossover with its sleek and horizontal layout.

Dual 10.25-inch screens for the driver’s instrument cluster and infotainment system (which comes with Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto) are housed in a single panel. Also unique to this compared to the Tiggo 5X Pro are its sport bucket seats which are wrapped in leatherette upholstery.
Under the hood of the Chery Tiggo Cross is a 1.5-liter naturally-aspirated Inline four-cylinder gasoline engine from the Tiggo 5X Pro. It produces 114 horsepower and 141 Nm of torque, mated to a CVT.
Safety-wise, it comes with six airbags, ABS with EBD, a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), a reverse camera with dynamic guidelines, and hill descent control, among others.
Chery Auto Philippines certainly has its way with bringing affordable vehicles to the market. With that, we won’t be surprised if the Tiggo Cross becomes a success.
