ICYMI: NCAP is back on these roads starting May 26

NCAP is back! No, not the global program that ensures vehicle safety.

By now you’ve probably heard or read that the temporary restraining order (TRO) on the implementation of the No-Contact Apprehension Program has been partially lifted, allowing it to be used for sending violations to erring motorists once again, albeit only on roads under the jurisdiction of the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA).

Officially resuming today, May 26, 2025, you don’t have to worry about this if you’re a law-abiding driver. You also probably want to know which roads are covered so here’s a list from the MMDA:

List from MMDA

As you can see, all circumferential and radial roads under the MMDA are covered by the NCAP. As of this writing, NCAP still cannot be implemented by LGUs.

It will be remembered that a TRO was issued by the Supreme Court of the Philippines against the implementation of the NCAP in 2022 due to various concerns. Due to various major road incidents in the past weeks, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) has since advocated for its return and got its wishes.
