This is what your Toyota Land Cruiser Prado could look like for Php 650K more

There’s no denying that the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado (J250) is a very desirable car. In fact, a surprising amount of them has cropped up on the streets, but with a couple of modifications done to the car, with the local variant’s vertical grille slats and body-colored cladding (based off Australia’s Kakadu trim) being a major point of contention as people would prefer their Prados to be a little bit more rugged looking.

However, if you happen to be in the market for one and don’t have the time (or motivation) to modify your Prado yourself, it just so happens that Toyota Makati is selling one modified with a few Modellista bits, a tire and wheel upgrade, and the coveted mesh grille with the TOYOTA wordmark front and center. The interior remains untouched, but that’s to be understood as most of Modellista’s parts are for the right-hand drive market.

This adds Php 650,000 on top of the Prado’s already eye-watering Php 4,821,000 retail price, but surely, the convenience of not having to do anything else to your car after you purchase it might be worth it compared to sourcing the parts individually.

But should you want to source the parts individually, we’ve listed what changed from the Modellista catalog:
- Toyota Land Cruiser Prado mesh grille
- Front Bumper Guard (MSD41-60007)
- Rear Bumper Garnish (MSD43-60009)
- Over Fender – Metallic Painted (MSD15-6005)
- Fender Garnish (MSD15-60004)
- 21-inch alloy wheels – Cutting x Gloss Black x4 (MSC13-6001) (Land Cruiser 300 part)
- Michelin Pilot Sport 4 SUV tires x4 (275/50 R21)
Granted, these modifications further turn the otherwise capable off-roader SUV into a pavement princess, but if that’s your style and you appreciate having JDM parts on your car, this might be a good alternative to all the taoke-spec Prados with all-terrain tires and TE37s on the road.
