Geely’s Radar pickup brand formally enters PH under UAAGI

The number of automotive brands to choose from here in the Philippines just continues to grow one after another, this time with Radar which has just entered the local market.

Known as Riddara in some other markets, and a sub-brand of Geely Auto, Radar joins the Philippine automotive industry under the distributorship of United Asia Automotive Group, Inc. (UAAGI), which holds one of the most diverse automotive distributorship businesses, with Radar being its fifth automotive brand on offer.

The brand will be operating under the name Radar Auto Philippines, offering two versions of the RD6 midsize pickup truck which is based on the Geely Okavango midsize SUV.

The first version of the Radar RD6 is the fully-electric ECON, powered by dual electric motors that produces a combined 381 horsepower and 485Nm of torque, going from 0 to 100kph in a minimum of 5.7 seconds, and capable of driving up to 443km on a single charge.

It features a best-in-class 1,765mm long bed, and is capable of wading through up to 815mm of water. Features include a standard cargo bedliner, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a reverse camera with parking sensors, and synthetic leather seats.

Three variants of the Radar RD6 ECON are available, which are as follows:

  • RD6 4×2 – Php 1,398,000
  • RD6 4×2 (Long Bed) – Php 1,598,000
  • RD6 AWD – Php 1,748,000

For those who need to drive longer distances, there’s the Radar RD6 EM-P. This one is a plug-in hybrid (PHEV), pairing together a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with dual electric motors. This powertrain produces a combined 463 horsepower and 659Nm of torque, and is capable of pure electric driving up to 82km, or up to 1,000km combined with the engine.

This one is a bit more feature-packed than the ECON as well, with a sleeker and more modern interior design, and stuff such as cargo bed power outlets, a 14.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a panoramic sunroof.

There are also three variants of the RD6 EM-P, all with a 4×4 drivetrain. These are as follows, along with their prices:

  • RD6 EM-P Comfort 4×4 – Php 1,698,000
  • RD6 EM-P Elite 4×4 – Php 1,798,000
  • RD6 EM-P Luxury 4×4 – Php 1,948,000

Radar Auto Philippines is also offering introductory discounts of between Php 40,000 to Php 50,000, depending on the variant. All also come with a five-year or 150,000km vehicle warranty, whichever comes first; and an eight-year or 200,000km battery warranty. These are paired to three years of free emergency roadside assistance.
